how and Where it all began...
Apricot Sky Productions was founded in 1999, by Eric Alter in Montclair, NJ. Eric started the company because at the time there were few local theaters who were putting on original works.
Located at the Grove Street Theatre inside The Deron School of NJ, Apricot Sky Productions has been performing original works for over 20 years both in Montclair, and NYC.
Apricot Sky Productions gives voices to new Playwrights, Actors and Directors. We are always seeking new members who wish to showcase their talents in a wide variety of performing outlets.
Since it's inception, Apricot Sky Productions was just a theater company, but in 2022, Apricot Sky has branced out into TV and Film. in 2022, Eric Alter wrote and produced the TV pilot called: 180 Days, which is currently in festvials as of this writing. Most recently, it preimiered at the Golden State Festival in Los Angeles, and the Big Apple Fil Festival in NYC. Apricot Sky Productions has also produced the short film: In Reverse Order, based on the play: In Reverse Order, Written By: Eric Alter. We keep spreading our wings!
Apricot Sky gives back....in addition to main stage shows we do every year, Apricot Sky Productions has done various charity shows for domestic violence, soup kitchens, cancer and three shows remembering September 11th. Most recently in 2021, as part of the 20 year anniversary of the September 11th attacks, Apricot Sky Productions raised $2400.00 for the National September 11th Musesum and Memorial.
Apricot Sky Productions hopes to continue to show case new voices and visions in the world of theater, TV and film.
