World premiere of a new dramatic play slated for October in Montclair, NJ with easy train/bus transportation access to and from Manhattan. Production team expects a follow-on early 2027 NYC/Off-Off Broadway run, as well.

‘Kill Goofy’, written by playwright Eric Alter, is a powerful new play about two reunited childhood friends who discover how each continues to struggle in the shadows 30 years after a shared trauma.

Seeking non-union experienced actors and actresses. Flat rate compensation covering rehearsals and performances, standard independent contractor agreement; local NYC and NJ talent preferred (no housing or transportation provided).

Primary roles available:
FREDDY – 43 years old. Kind and childlike. He suffers from anxiety and immense trauma.
BERNARD (Barney) – 43 years old. Childhood best-friend of Freddy. Outwardly confident and put together. There is a trauma hidden underneath.
ANGELA (Ma) – 68 years old. Freddy’s mother. Has an exterior toughness. Speaks her mind.

Secondary roles available:
MS. VANSHACK – (younger) 35. Seductive and extremely attractive.
MS. VANSHACK – (older) 66 years old. Nothing like her younger self.
VALERIE – 40ish. A little off, but has the most beautiful heart and is very shy. 

Rehearsals begin no earlier than late August with weekend performances running from October 9-24 for a total of 9 performances.

Auditions will be held on Thursday July 9th from 7-10pm in Montclair, NJ. Selected applicants will receive an invitation to audition with an assigned time slot.
